HAZMAT team called after reported chemical spill in Oak Creek

OAK CREEK, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A hazardous materials team was called to an Oak Creek business for a report of a chemical spill.

It happened at an industrial park on 6th Street, south of Rawson Avenue.

The Oak Cree Fire Department says chemicals overflowed and were caught inside a containment basin. Firefighters don't know what kind of chemical it was and brought in the Milwaukee Fire Department's HAZMAT team to help investigate.

"Everything actually went really well, it was a situation where you didn't want anyone to get injured, we need to monitor the atmosphere inside to make sure it's safe for everyone to enter," said Battalion Chief Tom Jonson with the Oak Creek Fire Department.

Firefighters evacuated the building. They say no one was hurt, but it's unclear what caused the chemicals to overflow.
