Heat continues Wednesday with storm chances returning
The heat isn't going anywhere with our heat wave now going into its fourth day on Wednesday. We've been keeping a close eye on warm records the last few days. The high temperature in Milwaukee got to 94 degrees both Monday and Tuesday. Monday that tied a record, Tuesday it fell just two degrees short. But Tuesday did shatter a record warmest low when the low temperature only dropped to 78* from midnight-to-midnight Tuesday breaking the old record of 74. We are also tracking that record warmest low temperature for Wednesday. So far Wednesday morning the low has only dropped to 77 which would tie the old record, but there's a good chance we drop into the low 70s or even 60s before midnight so we likely don't break that record.
High temperatures are expected to reach the upper 80s to around 90 Wednesday. We do get some relief from the heat Thursday and Friday in the upper 70s to around 80 but the heat is back on Saturday getting close to 90.
Humidity levels stay high on Wednesday with tropical-level dew points around 70 degrees. The humidity level drops Thursday into the 60s for dew points but it's not going to go away completely. Friday will see a return with muggy conditions then Saturday also looks like a humid day.
Heat index values likely won't reach the upper 90s to around 100 Wednesday like they have Monday and Tuesday but low to mid 90s for feels like temps are still possible.
After a dry day on Tuesday, a storm chance returns Wednesday as a cold front gets closer to southeast Wisconsin. A few showers may be possible in the morning in western and northern counties. The better chance for scattered showers and storms is in the afternoon and evening. More scattered storms look possible on Thursday with an isolated chance on Friday. Right now we are not under any severe risk over the next three days but an isolated strong storm can't be ruled out with the heat and humidity.
