WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) – A historic Wauwatosa cabin was moved one mile to its new location early Thursday morning.
The cabin was built in 1921. It was moved in the 1950’s to make room for a middle school. The cabin was just moved again after an apartment develop bought the plot of land it was on.
The building was originally going to be torn down, until a architecture firm paid to move it.
“For us it was an opportunity,” Joe Galbraith with Galbraith Architects said. “We needed more space for our office, our office is growing, and that space gives us about three times the amount of square footage that we currently have. So, our office right now is on 64th and North. We wanted to stay in the neighborhood.”
The cabin was slowly moved down Wauwatosa Ave. to its new location at North Ave.
