ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (WDJT) – Work continues on the Packers’ Titletown District, including plans to demolish 16 homes near Lambeau field.
The homes will be demolished to make way for 70 new townhomes.
Some buildings in the Titletown District like Lodge Kohler and Hinterland Brewery are already open.
People living nearby say the new commercial and retail development is a welcome change
“I think it’ll be great for the Packers. I mean the revenue that they’ll be able to generate off that area there and the impact it will have on the people in the Green Bay area and people coming in. It’s more and more things to do in this area,” says Jim Denamur who lives nearby.
The demolition is expected to take about a month.
After the demolition, the vacant lots will be used for parking during football games this season and construction on the townhomes could start next year.
