MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--The time is now to cover our community with comfort and warmth through the annual Blanket Drive. It’s an effort put on by the AFL-CIO Community Services and United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha Counties. Last year, organizers collected more than 260 blankets, all new. With the current pandemic in place, the hope is for even greater donations.
Jay Reinke/AFL-CIO Community Service Liaison, Jay Reinke, says all types of new blankets are welcome. They will then be distributed throughout Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, and Waukesha Counties to different agencies and shelters.
Over the course of the next five weeks, you can bring any new blankets to the Labor Council office at Main Street and Hawley Road in Milwaukee during specific times. The first drop off is Tuesday from 10 am until noon. To see other times for dropping off or if you want to make a monetary donation, just click here.
