Hundreds of kids, families head to downtown West Allis Saturday morning for annual Halloween Hunt
CBS 58 WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Halloween started early in West Allis Saturday morning, as hundreds headed out to the downtown area for the annual Halloween Hunt.
More than 20 local businesses and organizations handed out candy to trick-or-treaters.
Costumes were obviously encouraged, and attendees CBS 58 spoke with said it's a great time to get dressed up and spend time with the community.
"Really fun to be able to celebrate with my family. My wife has been coming to this for the past 20 years since her niece was a little girl," said Drew Holloway, who was also celebrating his birthday while dressed as Waldo.
"It's nice to see the businesses in downtown West Allis so a great tradition they've been doing for years," added Bridget McMahon who was dressed as Louise Belcher from Bob's Burgers.Â
Kimberly Wentz, who was with her family in a group costume as characters from Monsters Inc., said this is their favorite holiday.
"We love decorating, getting into the themes. Every year we plan something out. Last year we were Nightmare before Christmas, next year we're Alice in Wonderland," Wentz said.Â
Tess Burgermeister, who was dressed as a witch, was with her young son who was Wisconsin legend Bob Uecker.
"So good!" the mini Uecker said about Halloween. "It's sick!"
And for 11-year-old Atlas, who was on the hunt for candy?
"I'm okay with any, as long as I get to eat it."
