MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- First Stage is set to present "The SpongeBob Musical for Young Audiences" in Milwaukee, running from March 3 to April 2.
This adaptation of the hit Broadway show, based on the long-running animated Nickelodeon series, is tailored specifically for young audiences. With a book by Kyle Jarrow, fans of all ages can expect a splash of excitement as their favorite characters from Bikini Bottom come to life on stage.
In this seaworthy tale, SpongeBob and friends face the threat of total annihilation from Mt. Humongous. As chaos ensues, an unexpected hero rises to save the day.
The production boasts original songs from a star-studded lineup of musicians, including Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, David Bowie, among others, promising a whale of a time for Milwaukee families.
To learn more about the SpongeBob gang's show in Milwaukee, we spoke to the show's music director Paul Helm on Wednesday, March 15.
Performances will take place at the Marcus Center's Todd Wehr Theater. Tickets start at $32 and are available at the Marcus Center Box Office, by phone or online at firststage.org. The show is recommended for families with young children ages 6 and up.
