IndyCar and Indy NXT drivers roll into Milwaukee for Admirals appearance
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Riding the Zamboni at a recent Admirals game, Nolan Siegel looks youthful. As the 20-year-old takes on the top stars, of Indy Car.
"You take a guy like Scott (Dixon), or Will Power. Like these guys have been racing in IndyCar for longer than I've been alive," IndyCar driver Nolan Siegel says. "That's hard to compete with. That's a lot of experience."
Siegel and Indy NXT driver Jordan Missig come to Milwaukee and remember their Wisconsin connections.
"Augie Pabst was a class act, from a team owner's perspective. Gave us the best shot. Probably some of the best cars I've been able to race in my career," Indy NXT driver Jordan Missig says. "For me, it's kind of been more of a rapid progression. Only because, you know I started racing when I was 18. So, it's much later than what most guys start racing at. They're normally starting around the ages of 5 to 11."
"Road America? I learned a lot, this past year. Very chaotic weekend for me," Siegel says. "It was my second start in IndyCar with a team I found out I was driving for 2 days before the race. The Milwaukee Mile? Similar thing. I think we were actually quite good. The car was really good. Unfortunately, we had a mechanical in race 2 and caught a bad yellow in race 1."
Both drivers know Oconomowoc's Yuven Sundaramoorthy, Jordan racing for the same team, Abel Motorsports. And Siegel convinced he'll return after budget challenges that will halt his 2025 season.
"I'm sure that he will be back, and I am very much looking forward to seeing him back in Indy NXT," Siegel says. "I'm guessing it will be some time very, very soon."
