Wauwatosa Police say multiple tip calls helped them locate and apprehend escaped inmate Dylan Farber.
"When people call in... sometimes it's nothing. In this case, it allowed us to do job," said Lt. Brian Zalewski, Wauwatosa Police Department.
Tip callers spotted Farber in 5 different locations. One of them was on Jocelyn Howard's block, and she noticed the escapee walking through her yard.
"He had very weird looking hair, a hunter green shirt, khaki pants and no shoes," said Howard. "I'm very glad he didn't knock on my door. I have an infant daughter. Who knows what wold have happened."
She says before she could call police, a squad car showed up at her neighbor's house. According to police, Farber tried to enter someone's back door on that same block.
Police eventually set up a perimeter and spotted Farber. He ran over a fence and across some train tracks. When police caught up to him, they were able to take Farber into custody.
Police don't know why Farber was in Wauwatosa, but don't believe he has any ties to the area.
