JOHNSON CREEK (CBS 58) - We're coming off the safest gun-deer hunting season ever in Wisconsin. More than a half-million hunters made the trek into the woods looking to bag a trophy buck, and for those who did they turn to the one person who can preserve their treasure.
Dave Polak has been in the industry for more than 30 years. Contrary to what many may believe, there’s no stuffing involved in the practice. Taxidermy involves skinning, salting, tanning and mounting. Polak says the most popular animal for taxidermists is whitetail deer and the process can take six to eight months.
If you're in need of Polak's services, you can call him at 262-432-3992.
