MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- International Women's Day is a day focused on celebrating the ladies of the world.

"I'm inspired a lot by my mom because she has taught me everything," Kayla Siedlecki said.

For some, the woman who gave birth to them is top of mind when it comes to inspiration.

"[My mom] lived a beautiful long life until she was 95, and she never complained. She always pulled up her boot and did what needed to be done, and that's inspiring," Karen said.

"[My mom] is just like the strongest woman I know. She's endured so much, and even though she's been through so much, she never shows any signs of hardships. She just powers through. I want to take that through in my own life. Just keep going and don't ever stop," Ashley Wickingson said.

For others, it is the women they know that paved the way for them.

"I do think the women in our company are really inspiring. The way that they've broken a lot of glass ceilings to get where they are, and as somebody who has a long way to go in that aspect, it's really cool to see," Katie Suh said.

"Women that inspire me are people around me that are brave enough to be exactly who they are despite what everybody else says they should be," Erin Bohannon said.

Or it could be the almost four billion women on earth they might not ever meet.

"I would definitely say any woman that is working toward her goals and continuing to serve others," Natyra Crawford said.

International Women's Day is a time to celebrate their beauty, talent and presence.

"For all of you people out there, honor your women, cherish your women. Because women are awesome. Women rock and they rule the world," one anonymous woman said.
