Isolated showers possible Wednesday with warming temps for the last few days of August
Some isolated showers will be possible on Wednesday. Most of the stronger storms that were in place in central and northwest Wisconsin Tuesday weakened before they reached our area. There was a brief overnight severe storm in Iowa County west of Madison which dissipated over Janesville. The best chance for any more isolated showers will be before 10 AM but an afternoon or evening shower or sprinkle is possible too.
Both Thursday and Friday look mostly dry but a few weather models have hinted at a couple of lakeside sprinkles so we will keep in a 10% chance for showers each of those days.
High temperatures will hover around average the next few days which is now 79 degrees. The temps will increase heading into the upcoming weekend where highs will hang out in the low to middle 80s.
Humidity levels will stay muggy on Wednesday with the chance for showers bringing in an added level of moisture. Humidity will be less on Thursday but still noticeable then we are back to comfortable levels of humidity by Friday.
The few cool mornings we had at the beginning of this week with lows in the 40s and 50s are gone for now. Lows will mostly stay above average in the low to middle 60s.
The warmer than average lows continue a trend of warmer nights that we have seen, not just this year, but over the last 50 years. Milwaukee is averaging about 27 more nights above average now than we were just 50 years ago. A sign of our warming climate that leads to uncomfortable sleep and higher risk of heat related issues due to our bodies and homes not being able to cool at night.
