K-9 finds marijuana after traffic stop in Mount Pleasant
Mount Pleasant Police using a K-9 recovered over two pounds of marijuana following a traffic stop late Friday night. According to a news release, Mount Pleasant officers stopped a vehicle on State Highway 31 near Margery Drive in Mount Pleasant around 11:10 pm. When the vehicle pulled over, the driver fled on foot towards a nearby apartment building. He was seen carrying a large, white plastic grocery bag. A K-9 was brought in and tracked the suspect to the corner of a nearby building where the plastic bag was found. Inside the bag, the officers discovered the marijuana. The suspect, described as a black male wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a jacket was not located. The incident is under investigation by the Mount Pleasant Police.
