Kenosha County school bus driver charged with sexual assault of children

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Kenosha County school bus driver is accused of sexually assaulting children. 

Forty-four-year-old Peter Johnson worked for First Student bus company. 

According to legal documents, he was placed on administrative leave Nov. 6. 

First Student confirmed Friday, Nov. 21, that Johnson has been fired from his position, saying in a statement:

"At First Student, our number one priority is the safety of our students, employees and the communities we serve. We have been made aware of the charges against a driver, and this driver is no longer employed by First Student. We will continue to assist law enforcement with its ongoing investigation and, as such, are unable to comment further."

Police say the alleged victims are related to Johnson's girlfriend. The victims are now adults; they say the abuse started when they were 11 years old. 

Johnson faces two counts of repeated sexual assault of a child and two counts of child enticement. 

Court records show bond has been set at $100,000. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 26.
