A Kenosha County teen made his first court appearance on October 6 on charges he used a school supplied laptop to hack into his own school's records.
Austin Poglitsch, 17-year-olds, is being tried as an adult.
Police said when he was just a junior he used what's called a "brute force" attack to target Central High School's servers and get passwords.
Detectives say he was angry that the school's network was so slow.
Poglitsch is charged with four misdemeanors and a felony which carries a possible 12 year sentence.
