Riverview Elementary staff member charged with sexual misconduct involving current and former students in Silver Lake
KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- An elementary school staff member in Silver Lake is facing multiple felony charges, after Kenosha officials said she was involved in sexual misconduct with both current and former students.
Investigators said Anna-Marie Crocker, 33, is charged with 1st Degree Child Sex Assault with a person under the age of 13, possession of child porn, and child sexual exploitation.
Officials said they do not believe the alleged misconduct occurred at Riverview Elementary where Crocker worked, or during school hours.
According to court documents, one victim told deputies he had been assaulted last winter when he was at Crocker's house for a sleepover with friends.
While everyone else was asleep, the victim reportedly said she removed his pants and was on top of him while naked.
Documents said the victim "told her repeatedly to get off of him, but she would not listen."
Later on, the victim would tell his parents he was forced to have sexual intercourse with Crocker, who he believed had been drinking.
On Wednesday, Oct. 9, a school resource officer at a high school asked another boy if he had contact with Crocker.
Officials said that boy admitted he "had been exchanging sexual chats and pictures via Snapchat" with Crocker "for a long time."
Deputies said he later went into detail about how Crocker "sexually assaulted him in a parking lot in Racine County" in August.
Court documents said Crocker texted the first victim a couple of months ago, telling him "to apologize to her for what happened in the basement" and that he "could not tell anyone about what happened."
Officials also found a sexual video on Crocker's cell phone of one of the victims, which she admitted she had sent to another young female student.
Crocker, who is currently being held at the Kenosha County Jail, will appear in court next week for a preliminary hearing. Her cash bond is set at $500,000 dollars.
CBS 58 spoke with one Riverview parent who asked not to be identified, who sent this statement:
"I am deeply concerned. We as parents cannot even trust sending our children to school without having to worry about someone doing highly inappropriate to our children. School is supposed to be a safe place for kids, and for some kids their only safe place, that has all been ripped away. I am terrified to send my daughter to school now."
School District Administrator Kim Taylor sent CBS 58 this statement which reads in full:
"We remain in contact with local law enforcement to support their ongoing investigation. We understand that this situation can be difficult for our students, families and staff to process. Please know that our school counselors are here and ready to provide support as needed. We strongly encourage any students who need some extra help to visit the counseling office at any time—they are here for you. We have asked our teachers to direct all questions and concerns to administrators or our school counselors. We want to remind everyone of the importance of being vigilant and report any concerns to our administration. This is distressing news and we understand that emotions can impact behavior so we want to stress the importance of maintaining a respectful environment for all individuals. Our focus at this time is on our students and making sure they have access to the safe, supportive, and welcoming learning environment they need and deserve."
