Kenosha police arrest 2 with rifles in separate traffic stops

KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Kenosha police say they made two arrests Monday, March 6, connected to the possession of firearms.

They say around 1:30 p.m., a 21-year-old man who was recently let out on parole was pulled over and found to be concealing a rifle in his pants.

Authorities say the gun was "manually altered with a saw to make it shorter." He was also found in possession of a "good amount" of Percocet pills.

Police say around 90 minutes later, they stopped a 19-year-old man near a school, who they knew to have a warrant.

They said during the stop, they found the man was also in possession of a rifle and was carrying it in his pants.

Kenosha PD says both individuals were taken to jail and the firearms were removed from the streets.
