Kids From Wisconsin perform to power initiative combating food insecurity
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin-based performing arts group, Kids From Wisconsin, have aligned with Feeding Wisconsin, Second Harvest and Feeding America to combat local food insecurity.
The mission is raising public awareness and having a substantial influence on communities throughout the state.
Kids From Wisconsin are set to embark on a statewide summer tour, traveling over 6,000 miles and spanning more than 30 communities. This tour includes a "Stuff The Bus" initiative in partnership with the hunger-relief organizations.
This collaborative campaign, titled "Forward Together from Stage to Table," is scheduled for Tuesday, July 20 at Thiensville Village Park from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The approach addresses the issue of food insecurity as Kids From Wisconsin, with their performances, encourage attendees to donate to local food banks. Family Sharing of Ozaukee County will benefit from the food collection, with donations being distributed to those facing hunger.
