SHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Kiwanis Club of Greater Sheboygan is preparing for its 10th Annual iPads for Autism Fun Run/Walk, which will take place Saturday, April 27 at River Park in Sheboygan Falls.
John Throop, co-chair of the event was joined by Jackie Erdman, also of the Kiwanis Club, in joining us on Tuesday, April 23 to preview the run/walk and why it is so important.
On-site registration at 7:30 a.m., with the event featuring a youth walk at 8:30 a.m. and the main 5K Fun Run/Walk at 9 a.m.
Entry fees are $25 for participants 17 and older, $10 for those aged 10-16, while children under 10 are able to participate for free.
Funds raised from registration fees and business sponsorships will support the purchase of iPads and specialized apps for Sheboygan County children and teens on the autism spectrum. These devices will be distributed to qualifying families, with a focus on accommodating non-English speaking households.
Over the past ten years, the Kiwanis Club says that the initiative has funded nearly 140 iPads, helping over 1,600 users across Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. Not only do the funds go towards this cause, but Bucks fans may have a special interest as Bucks cap signed by forward Jae Crowder will be available in an onsite raffle.
Attendees can register at the event or in advance online by clicking here.
