Chilly Election Day, then wintry mix and showers return
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Local leaders put on their hard hats and led a tour of an affordable housing development in South Milwaukee Monday. It's part of a $50 million project which will turn three former office buildings into homes for low-income residents.
County Executive David Crowley, whose administration invested $3 million in the project, highlighted the progress made toward redevelopment.
Since stepping into the role, Crowley has worked to make Milwaukee County the healthiest county in the state. He says this project is a huge step toward turning that vision into a reality.
"This is what it looks like to lift up our entire community across Milwaukee County, and when we do that, when we prioritize the needs for those who are often left behind, we create a stronger and more equitable Milwaukee for all of us to live in," Crowley said.
Milwaukee County also has plans to move the Kelly Senior Center to this location next year.
