Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Gravy
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A group of woodcarvers are spreading Christmas cheer early by delivering hand-carved ornaments to veterans at the VA hospital.
The Wilson Park Senior Center Woodcarvers and Burners club have been busy at work sculpting and carving Santa's, stars, and everything in between.
The ornaments have been months in the making.
"It feels pretty good to me, and a lot of these other people feel the same way because we have some guys who have done 50 ornaments," said John Gehrman, president of the Wilson Park Senior Center Woodcarvers and Burners club.
This is the events fifth year. Erinn Brulla, recreational therapist at the Spinal Cord Injury Unit Milwaukee VA said it's an event the veterans looks forward to.
"I think it’s a great way to honor the holidays and give the inpatients a moment of holiday cheer," said Brulla.
The ornaments will be distributed to veterans at the VA Hospital in December.
