WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Walk long enough on Wisconsin's Ice Age Trail and you're likely to run into Pat Witkowski. The Oconomowoc native and longtime volunteer has been described as a force of nature for her years of service maintaining the natural beauty of the massive trail.
The Ice Age Trail is a national scenic trail located entirely within the borders of Wisconsin. It's one of 42 state trails but the only one specifically designated as a state scenic trail.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Melissa Zygowicz joined Witkowski for a hike along the trail she's spent more than 10,000 hours helping keep vibrant and welcoming.
