MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A new hotel is planned for the Deer District.
The hotel, The Trade, will have 205-rooms along with VIP suites, a rooftop bar and two restaurants.
“This is really another sign that we will have life and prosperity after the pandemic,” Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett said.
The Trade will be located across the street from Fiserv Forum near Good City Brewing.
“The most unique component of this is the location,” North Central Group Vice President of Development Andy Inman said.
Milwaukee Bucks and Fiserv Forum president Peter Feigin says the hotel won’t only be for people from out of town, but for residents as well.
“This is not only a destination for people who are going to stay in Milwaukee, but this will obviously have restaurants, it will have an unbelievable roof bar to make as a destination for residents of the city and really compliment a lot of things that we’re doing around the Deer District,” he said.
The hotel will also feature art celebrating Milwaukee’s history and its tradespeople.
“Right now, the heart of the city of Milwaukee is on a very positive trajectory,” Barrett said.
Construction is set to begin in late fall 2021. The planned opening for The Trade is scheduled for early 2023.
