'Mailman Mike' receives retirement honor after 30 years serving Riverwest community

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee's Common Council honored a local mailman Tuesday, Sept. 19, for his 30-year service with the United States Postal Service.

Michael Boothe, known as "Mailman Mike," has worked as a letter carrier out of the N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. Post Office for his entire career, according to Alderman Jonathan Brostoff.

“Mike has been an almost daily messenger of positivity, humor and kindness along his route in Riverwest for decades,” Ald. Brostoff said. “Over the years he’s made many people’s days better just by being himself, so why not give back some of that positive energy to Mike?”

Mailman Mike will retire on Sept. 23
