Man arrested after allegedly stealing Dr. Pepper, sleeping inside of Waukesha Farm & Fleet

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Waukesha man is facing charges after police say he broke into a Farm & Fleet overnight and stole Dr. Pepper.

According to the criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to the Farm & Fleet in Waukesha early Sunday morning after the alarm went off.

Surveillance video shows a man inside of the store after hours. It also shows him taking a soda from the cooler before exiting the store.

Inside of the dressing room, officers located a makeshift bed area made out of coats that were for sale at the business.

The suspect was located at a nearby McDonalds with an almost full 20-ounce bottle of Dr. Pepper.

The man told police he didn't have anywhere to sleep that night so that he hid under some jacket racks until the store closed. The man also admitted taking Dr. Pepper because he was thirsty.

He now faces charges of Burglary of a Building or Dwelling.
