Man arrested after refusing to pull over in Ozaukee County

Authorities had to use stop sticks to get a man to pull over on I-43 in Ozaukee County Saturday afternoon.

The man was observed in a white SUV swerving and tailgating and concerned motorists alerted police. Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office deputies tried to pull over the man but he continued to drive north on I-43.

The man was finally stopped by police when he hit the stop sticks south of County Highway LL in the Town of Port Washington. I-43 northbound was shut down for approximately 15 minutes during the incident.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody for felony fleeing and eluding, operating while under the influence and felon in possession of a concealed knife. The driver is a 60-year-old man from the City of Sheboygan.
