Man arrested with more than a half pound of marijuana at Glendale hotel
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – A Milwaukee man was arrested at a Glendale hotel on March 8 with more than a half pound of marijuana.
According to a criminal complaint, Harrel Martin is facing several charges including possession with intent to deliver controlled substance (THC), possession with intent to deliver controlled substance (methamphetamine), possession of a firearm by a felon and bail jumping.
Court documents state Glendale Police officers spotted a 2006 Mercedes Benz parked in the Motel 6 parking lot on March 8. While standing outside of the car, officers could see suspected marijuana near the vehicle’s gearshift and a handgun.
A further search of the car eventually turned up other items including oxycodone pills, suspected MDMA pills, a digital scale, a large bag containing marijuana and nine individually packaged marijuana joints.
When officers made contact with Martin, he told them he bought the car a month prior and was the last person to drive it.
While arresting Martin, police found $7,638 in his pockets. Officers recovered 264 grams of marijuana from the car.
Martin faces more than 30 years in prison and up to $70,000 in fines.
