Victim of Green Lake County house fire identified

MARKESAN, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have identified the man killed in a house fire in east-central Wisconsin.

Green Lake County sheriff's officials say crews were called to the fire north of Markesan around 1:30 a.m. Sunday and found the house engulfed in flames. A search team found 29-year-old Justin Lewis in the home. He was later pronounced dead.

Authorities don't yet know what caused the fire.

MARKESAN,  WI (CBS 58) -- An early morning house fire in Green Lake County has taken the life of a 29-year-old Princeton man.   According to a news release from the Green Lake County Sheriff, the fire was spotted around 1:15 AM in a house about 5 miles north of Markesan in southern Green Lake County.     When firefighters arrived at the home on Tuleta Hill Road in the Town of Green Lake, the building was fully engulfed in flames.    The fire was brought under control, and that is when searchers found the resident of the home, who was later pronounced deceased.

The cause and origin of the fire is not known and is being investigated by the Wisconsin State Fire Marshall's Office and Green Lake County Detectives.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of family.
