Update: Man killed after being hit by vehicle at 54th and National, woman in custody

WEST MILWAUKEE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 30 year-old-woman is in custody after striking a man with her vehicle Monday night at the intersection of W. National Ave at S. 54th St. in West Milwaukee.
Police responded to the scene at approximately 7:36PM and immediately began rendering aid to the 59-year-old man who was struck. Despite these efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by Milwaukee Fire personnel.
This incident is actively being investigated by police and the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner and charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.

West Allis police squads had several roads taped off blocking traffic.
