Family identifies woman killed in apparent murder-suicide in West Allis

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Police are investigating after two people were found dead inside a home near 93rd and Greenfield in West Allis.

Officers responded to the residence for a welfare check on Thursday, Dec. 23.

Upon arrival, they found a 27-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man deceased.

Both suffered fatal gunshot wounds. Police say the fatal wound to the man appears to be self-inflicted.

Family has identified the woman killed as Lauren Storts. 

A statement from the family says she was "an amazing mother, sister, daughter and friend to many," who was attending UW-Milwaukee.

An investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact West Allis police.
