Marcus Center announces new master plan including major renovations

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The Marcus Center for the Performing Arts has revealed its new Campus Master Plan which includes a complete reimagining of the public and gathering places on the campus and improvements to the interior spaces.

The vision for the grounds is anticipated to be implemented in multiple phases over the next three to five years. Work on the first phase is anticipated to begin in Spring 2019 and be completed in time for the start of the 2019/2020 50th Anniversary Season.


The initial initiatives will include a community grounds looking more like a park by expanding the plaza, installing new water fountains and creating green areas. New clear glass will be installed on the Water Street entrance. The War Memorial dedication will be relocated to a more prominent space. A new donor lounge will be renovated to overlook the grounds and city skyline.

Future initiatives include a new outdoor cafe, renovation of the Bradley Pavilion, complete renovation of the Todd Wehr Theater, outdoor gardens on the third floor, complete renovation of Uihlein Hall.

The Marcus Center anticipates that over the next 50 years it will create a total economic impact of $1.7 billion.
