Marquette lands in Dallas for Sweet 16
DALLAS, TX (CBS 58) -- Everything is bigger in Texas and for Marquette that means the stakes are bigger. The Golden Eagles have landed in Marquette lands in Dallas but to truly become legends, they need two wins at the American Airlines Center and a trip to the Final Four.
The Golden Eagles had a nice send-off in Milwaukee in front of friends, family and fans. They have all sorts of momentum coming into Friday's matchup against NC State on CBS 58.
"Be the best us. Same strategy that we have for facing anybody. We try not to make it about the opponent we try to make it about us being the best version of ourselves. That's what we've worked on all year," said Marquette head coach Shaka Smart.
"I feel like we just got to stay connected. we're the gladiators and they're the crowd. We can't let the crowd impact what we're doing. We just have to stay in a tight close circle," said Chase Ross.
Ross is from the Dallas area, so you can bet there will be some fans in American Airlines Center cheering on the Golden Eagles. He tells CBS 58 Sports that he expects to have around 40 tickets just for his friends and family at their game on Friday.
