Marquette's Tyler Kolek taken in second round of NBA Draft

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (CBS 58) - Former Marquette guard Tyler Kolek had to wait a day, but he heard his name called in the NBA Draft's second round.

Kolek is headed to the New York Knicks with the 34th overall pick. One pick after the Milwaukee Bucks second round selection.

The Knicks received the pick in a proposed trade with the Portland Trail Blazers.

The two-time consensus All-American is the 59th Marquette player drafted.

During his time at Marquette, he helped the Golden Eagles make it past the first weekend of the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2013 and claim a Big East regular season and tournament for the first time in school history. He was named to the All-Big East first team twice and was the Big East Player of the Year in 2023.
