Mayor Barrett urges MLB to bring 2021 All Star Game to Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A letter from Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett to Major League Baseball Commissioner Robert Manfred encourages him to consider relocating the 2021 All-Star Game to Milwaukee.

The MLB made the decision to move the All-Star Game from Atlanta amid an outcry over Georgia’s new voting law. Critics say the law unfairly limits access to the ballot box, especially for people of color.

In the letter, Mayor Barrett says it is particularly appropriate location to honor Hank Aaron, a beloved Milwaukee baseball star.

Barrett concludes his letter by saying, "The City of Milwaukee would be honored to host the All Star Game, and you would have the full support of my office to make the festivities a success."
