MCTS restoring midday service on 4 routes, updating schedules starting June 7
CBS 58 MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Transit System will launch summer service changes on Sunday, June 7, restoring midday weekday service to Routes 28, 33, 34 and 55 using Milwaukee County contingency funds, according to a Tuesday, May 26 press release.
The changes also include schedule adjustments on 15 routes with the goal being to improve reliability, routing changes on the BlueLine and Route 66 and construction detours tied to ongoing projects including the I-94 East-West Freeway project.
The BlueLine will use a new southbound route between 64th and Silver Spring and 60th and Villard, eliminating the stop at 64th and Villard southbound. Route 66 will resume serving UWM and the Upper East Side on weekdays.
