MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee County Transit System bus drivers took to the streets Thursday, asking for a fair contract.
The MCTS union ATU started contract negotiations back in January.
The president of ATU says they're far from reaching an agreement.
He says they're asking for safety and security for their drivers.
Part of that includes expanding a van program to pick up drivers when they finish with their routes.
"So far they have been unreceptive," said Bruce Freeman, president of ATU. "They actually went to the county board and asked for them to stop it, so that's one of the main things we are fighting for."
MCTS union ATU hopes to wrap contract negotiations by the end of June.
