MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office has detailed an incident where a 49-year-old woman died following a fall on ice on Monday, Jan. 15.
According to the office's report, Jolene Waldref was found unresponsive in a snowbank near a bus stop near 76th and Congress. Officials believe the cause of death was hypothermia, but they are still investigating.
The report detailed that the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a call about someone in respiratory arrest at the location at 5:45 p.m. Despite receiving emergency treatment, Waldref was pronounced dead at 6:13 p.m.
The incident was reportedly captured on video from a nearby business, and it showed her slipping on ice and hitting her face on a gate before becoming unresponsive.
