MPD: 49-year-old dead following shooting near 11th and Atkinson, others injured in crash as car fled

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Details have been released about the fatal shooting that took place in Milwaukee on Saturday, Oct. 26.

Police say a car was traveling west on Atkinson when it reportedly collided with an electric pole and a bus shelter while attempting to leave the scene of the shooting on Saturday, Oct. 26, at around 12:03 p.m.

The driver, a 49-year-old man, sustained fatal gunshot injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The front passenger, a 42-year-old man, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.

A 57-year-old pedestrian was reportedly struck by the car while seated at the bus shelter and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

A 26-year-old man was subsequently taken into custody.

Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.


MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Police Department says one person is dead after a shooting near 14th and Atkinson Ave.

It happened shortly after Noon on Sat. Oct. 26th.

Police say the 49-year-old victim was pronounced dead on at the scene, and a 26-year-old has been arrested in connection to the shooting. 

Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
