Temps were a touch cooler than forecast today as winds turned to the SSE this afternoon, but a blustery south wind combined with skies turning sunny will help temps rise into the upper 80s for most of the area on Memorial Day. Some spots may even touch 90°!
If Milwaukee reaches 90°, it would only be the third time in the last 150 years that we'll have it 90° or warmer on Memorial Day.
If you want to escape the heat, head to the lakeshore. Temps will be about 10 degrees cooler in the 70s, but please stay out of Lake Michigan due to dangerous currents and water temperatures in the mid 40s.
We'll be warm and even more humid on Tuesday, but a cold front will move through during the second half of the day, triggering scattered showers and storms into the evening.
Given the warm and humid air, we could have a few strong to severe storms. The entire area is under a level 2 of 5, Slight Risk, for severe storms Tuesday, but it'll be conditional on whether or not we have lingering clouds for most of the day.
Behind this front temps will drop closer to normal in the low to mid 70s with much lower humidity.
