MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) — Two men are dead after a shooting on Milwaukee's north side.

Police say it happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday near W. Congress Avenue and N. 19th Place.

One victim has been identified as 56-year-old Develle Gholson. Another 21-year-old victim has not yet been named.

More than a dozen gunshots can be heard in a doorbell camera video from Sunday night, taken two blocks from the scene.

One nearby neighbor said the 21-year-old victim came to his front porch for help.

"I heard a banging at my front door, and I was wondering who that was," said Lary Rogers, who lives in the Rufus King neighborhood.

Rogers heard loud banging on his door and window just seconds after he heard gunshots.

When he heard police sirens, he opened the door.

"I saw the young man laying against the banister," Rogers explained. "He said, 'help me, help me, I've been shot.'"

Rogers yelled for officers to come to his porch, where he says they tried to save the man, but it was too late.

"He just, he just stopped breathing, and I kind of closed the door," Rogers said. "It's just senseless. You know? It's just senseless."

Rogers has lived in that house for almost six decades. He said he often hears gunshots, but this is the first time he's seen tragedy right outside his door.

"When I was a child, you know, you might fistfight or something like that," Rogers said. "Now, everybody's got guns. So, it's just not making very much sense."

Milwaukee police are still looking for suspects. They are investigating what led up to the shooting.
