RACINE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Time is ticking away, and the calendar will soon flip to May. This is the start of the growing season in Wisconsin, lasting for about five months.
The folks at Milaeger's in Racine say you should be getting prepared right now. In fact, they say you can go ahead and plant hearty vegetables into the ground, like beets, chard, carrots, radish, leaf lettuce and spinach just to name a few. Flowers like pansies and snapdragons can go into the ground as well. But make sure you're keeping up with what you're planting.
Milaeger's website is very thorough with featured blogs, how to guides and scheduled programs and events. Click here to get to the gardening center's site.
