MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee has flown the same flag for almost 70 years, but there is an effort to make the "People's Flag of Milwaukee" the new official flag.
Alderman Peter Burgelis and Steve Kodis of The People's Flag Milwaukee joined us on Tuesday, July 2 to discuss the common council resolution that would officially adopt a new city flag.
Under the proposal, “Sunrise Over the Lake” by Robert Lenz be adopted as the new city flag on Jan. 31, 2025, coinciding with Milwaukee’s 179th birthday.
