Milwaukee Brewers announce 2021 regular-season schedule

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Brewers announced Thursday, July 9, the 2021 regular season schedule, which is set to open with three Interleague contests against the Minnesota Twins in Milwaukee beginning on Thursday, April 1. The series will mark the first time that the Crew will start a season with Interleague Play.

Following the opening series against the Twins, the Brewers will head to Chicago for the start of a six-game road trip, playing the first three of their nine games against the Cubs in the month of April. The team’s nine meetings with the Cubs in April represent it’s second-most against a division opponent in any calendar month next season, behind only the 10 games the Crew will play against the St. Louis Cardinals in September.

Of the 19 games Milwaukee will play against each National League Central Division opponent, the team is scheduled to play the majority of the season series at home (10 games) with the Cardinals and Cincinnati Reds and on the road with the Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Brewers will square off with the American League Central Division in Interleague Play again in 2021, including series in Milwaukee with the Twins, Detroit Tigers (May 31-June 1), Kansas City Royals (July 20-21) and Chicago White Sox (July 23-25). The team will conclude Interleague Play with a five-game road trip to Cleveland (Sept. 10-12) and Detroit (Sept. 14-15) in the season’s final month.

The Crew’s longest homestand of the year will also be the last of the regular season, featuring 10 games in as many days against the Cubs (Sept. 17-19), Cardinals (Sept. 20-23) and New York Mets (Sept. 24-26). The team’s longest road trip will also be 10 games, spanning 11 days the month prior against the Cubs (Aug. 9-12), Pirates (Aug. 13-15) and Cardinals (Aug. 17-19).

The 2021 regular-season schedule will conclude with three games each in St. Louis (Sept. 28-30) and Los Angeles (Oct. 1-3). This will be the third time in six years that the Crew will close a campaign against a NL West team and the second time the Dodgers will be the team’s final regular-season opponent (1998, also in Los Angeles).
