Milwaukee Brewers to honor beloved pitcher, CC Sabathia, on Aug. 25

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- He's known as the "three-month miracle" in Milwaukee, and CC Sabathia is about to return to the mound.

Back in 2008, Sabathia helped send the Milwaukee Brewers to the postseason for the first time in 26 years.

Now to celebrate that short-lived acquisition, the Brewers have invited the beloved pitcher back.

The Cy Young Award winner says he still feels the love from Milwaukee fans.

"I always say that my favorite summer I ever had in the big leagues. I was just trying to help this team win as many games as possible. I felt fresh and I felt good," Sabathia said.

Sabathia will throw out the ceremonial first pitch ahead of the Brewers-Padres game on Friday, Aug. 25.

The first 20,000 ticketed fans attending the game will receive a commemorative poster of Sabathia from the front page of the Sept. 29, 2008 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel..
