MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Many people are understandably disappointed with the news of a largely-virtual DNC.
But the senior vice president of the Milwaukee Bucks says the DNC can still be a springboard for Milwaukee.
"We beat Miami and Houston, those are not small cities," Alex Lasry said. "They hold Super Bowls and Final Fours and we beat them out, so we need to have the confidence, and I think the swagger, to go after these big events and know that hey, we're going to lose some, but we're going to win a lot more because you know, we were chosen by the DNC for a reason."
Alex Lasry helped bring the DNC to Milwaukee.
He says he recognizes that the city may lose out on hundreds of millions of dollars in economic impact.
Still, he says the decision to go virtual is the right decision, and shows leadership from the Democratic National Committee.
