MILWAUKEE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- This weekend, the city of festivals appears to be living up to its name, with events happening throughout almost every corner of Milwaukee County.

Friday, Henry Maier Festival Park prepared to host their first-ever beer and cocktail garden.

Organizers said this is their way of extending their summer season.

"It’s a great time for friends and family to come down, hang out, enjoy the beautiful lake," said Jerrod Woods, senior director of marketing with the Milwaukee World Festival.

The first-of-its-kind event will go through the majority of September, taking place on select Fridays and Saturdays and offering food, music, and of course, the sudsy goods.

"We have an opportunity to, and a place to come and hang out and enjoy the lake, and have fun this fall," said Woods.

And while the suds are being poured on festival grounds just a small stroll away, Festa Italiana is bringing the flavor.

"We have the Italian dance group, all kinds of entertainment, and of course all the great Italian food, the trifecta of Italian food," said Sandy Winard, president and executive director of Festa Italiana.

This is the 43rd year for the festival, and its second year taking place on the Italian Community Center grounds.

The three-day festival bringing the sights and sounds of Italy to the 414.

"Come for the culture, stay for the party," said Winard.

The weekend continues with a hometown staple, Tosa Fest, that’s sure to keep the good times rolling, with more than 10,000 people expected to be in attendance.

"We've got over 30 food vendors; we have three stages of live music, each with a little bit of different genre," said Lee Heinrich, marketing coordinator for Tosa Fest.

Organizers said this annual event is a great way to showcase the best of Tosa.

"We have such great, locally owned restaurants and shops. It’s a really unique festival, it's one of a kind," said Heinrich.
