MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Sad news back in Milwaukee today from the office of Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley.

In a statement, he announced the passing of his mother, Valerie Crowley.

It reads in part --"Over the last three years as county executive, my mother's love and encouragement served as a pillar of strength. She believed in the power of public service and her unwavering belief in me propelled me forward, even in the face of adversity.

And goes on to say, “My heartfelt gratitude goes out to all those who have reached out with their condolences, prayers and support during this trying time."
