Milwaukee County Jail nurse tests positive for COVID-19

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A nurse working in the Milwaukee County Jail has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.

The nurse reported symptoms on April 2 and did not report in for work.

She last worked in the jail on March 31, while wearing personal protective equipment during interactions with patients and staff.

The Sheriff's Office says no other medical staff members have reported showing symptoms of COVID-19.

Officials say appropriate measures are being taken to monitor the health and well-being of all patients who may have come into contact with the nurse.

No member of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office and no person in custody of the Sheriff's Office has tested positive.
