MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee County Zoo will host the 45th annual Samson Stomp and Romp on Sunday, Jan. 19 with a new route honoring Samson, the silverback gorilla who lived at the zoo from 1950 to 1981.
Kimberly Graves, communications coordinator for the Milwaukee County Zoo, joined us on Wednesday, Jan. 15 to discuss the event.
The Stomp and Romp includes a 5K competitive run at 9:30 a.m., a 2-mile fun run/walk at 10:15 a.m. and a 1-mile romp for children at 10:45 a.m. Pre-registration fees are $35 for the 5K and 2-mile events and $20 for the 1-mile romp.
Proceeds from the event benefit the zoo’s animals. Additional information and registration are available on the Milwaukee County Zoo website.
