Milwaukee Film Festival unveils 'Cream City Cinema' lineup, showcasing local talent

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee Film has announced the "Cream City Cinema" lineup for the 15th Annual Milwaukee Film Festival, showcasing a diverse range of local filmmaking talent. The program, presented by Associated Bank, features eight feature-length films and 36 short films.
The festival lasts from April 20 until May 4.
Feature-length films for Cream City Cinema include:
- "A Common Sequence" -- A meditation on power dynamics, the shifting border between the natural and unnatural, and questions of value, extraction, and adaptation.
- "Beyond Human Nature" -- A true crime story chronicling the grisly 1992 Tom Monfils homicide investigation.
- "Earlybird" – A struggling theater owner tries to revive his business with outlandish play productions.
- "Hundreds of Beavers" -- A 19th-century supernatural winter epic about a fur trapper battling beavers.
- "Love & Irony" -- An existential bike mechanic discovers universal truths and transformative powers of love.
- "The Warm Season" -- A story of an alien visitor searching for a new home for his dying planet.
- "We Are Not Ghouls" -- A US Air Force JAG attorney battles corruption while defending a Guantanamo Bay detainee.
- "What We're Hungry For" -- A documentary about Wisconsin food pantries' response to the coronavirus pandemic.
